With its debut in 2010, the Department of Zoology has produced 07 batches of graduates, many of whom have pursued their Master’s Program in various universities and cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET). Many are pursuing their PhD, while some got absorbed in public and administrative services. Denzila Yolmo, a student from the department, secured first rank among students of the 2015-2018 batch of all other colleges under N.B.U. A couple of students have secured SGPA 9.3 under the CBCS system. Every academic session, the department holds students’ seminar on the trending issues of biological sciences. The department continuously strives to maintain a research environment and to equip students with laboratory exposure through departmental projects. It also reinforces experiential and contextual learning through a Biodiversity Study Tour in every academic year.

The Department of Sociology aims to provide students with comprehensive understanding of the society, human behaviour and social interactions. The department fosters critical thinking understanding of social structures and inequalities and equipping students with sociological research skills to analyse and address social issues. It also enables sociological imagination, sociological principles and social problems to analyse and interpret complex social systems and structures that shape our world. The department also aims to help students to develop leadership skills and become self reliant in future.
